Take a Deep Breath

What you’re feeling is real.

We provide a space where you can safely express your emotions and increase your calm.

Put Whatever You’re Feeling Onto Paper

When you’re experiencing a lot of big feelings,

it can be easy to slip from overwhelmed to stressed to angry.

Tapping into your creative flow

can help you return to a sense of stability and groundedness.

Our studio process is designed to help you to notice and express your feelings;

the process itself centers , grounds you, so you can unburden, feel lighter, and breathe easier.

Meet Sara Laya

I believe in helping you make your own meaningful connection to Jewish text.

Which might be out of the box because you might be out of the box.

Because maybe there is no box.

Which means looking at the text and then tapping in your right-brain for some personal creative expression.

The results will be more organic and more authentic.

We're taking You Do You and raising it to the power of Torah.

About Sara Laya Heller

The Full Story

I was raised within a traditional Torah learning framework from a young age. In adulthood, I found that I was building my own unique, non-traditional path to a meaningful relationship with Judaism.

As I struggled through the challenges of making aliyah and finding a community for myself in Jerusalem, I was able to create a safe space for myself in the creative process of art-making. With art, you can put down the things you have no words for, and it can empower you to be present with yourself in a new, profound way.

As I explored my own relationship to the Jewish texts, it felt natural to re-connect this wisdom to my art, where I found a deeper understanding of my Self and of the text.

The Spark Studio is dedicated to welcoming all who wish a deeper understanding of the text and their creative Self, no matter what their learning background or prior experience with art.
